Hi everyone! I recently read The One by John Marrs and wanted to share with you all. If you have a library card registered with Hoopla, you can find the audio version on the app/site. It was a real page turner for me, I finished it over a weekend.
How far would you go to find the one? A simple DNA test is all it takes. Just a quick mouth swab and soon you’ll be matched with your perfect partner, the one you are genetically made for.
That’s the promise made by Match Your DNA. A decade ago, the company announced they found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. But the discovery has its downsides: test results have led to the breakup of countless relationships and upended the traditional ideas of dating, romance and love.
Now five very different people have received the notification that they’ve been “Matched.” They’re each about to meet their one true love. But “happily ever after” isn’t guaranteed for everyone. Because even soul mates have secrets. And some are more shocking than others…
Sounds juicy right?! The book goes through each character and their experience with the DNA test and their respective matches. The matches are so unexpected for some of the characters. There are so many twists and turns, and I don’t want to ruin it for you all! The ending was really wild and I can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts.
The great part about this book is that I was able to completely focus on the book and take a break from everything that is going on in the world. Sometimes you really need to drown out the noise and just have a little self focus to help you recharge.
Please let me know if you have read the book or if you are interested in reading it.
What do you all think about Monday Born hosting a book club in the future?!
