Lactic Acid: what does it really do? Is it really from the COW🐮?!

If you’ve clicked on this, you either were fascinated by the cow GIF or you want to know more about the magical ingredient I’ve been raving about for YEARS now— lactic acid!

What does it really do? Why am I so obsessed with it?! Does it actually come from milk ➡ ‘lactose’ as we know it ➡ lactic acid??

Last week, I did a more general summary on AHAs and other active ingredients, while glancing over my decade long BFF, lactic acid.

But she deserves a dedicated content of her own and here is why 🤷🏽‍♀️

Natural lactic acid is actually found in dairy—giving yogurt, sour cream, and sour milk that “kick!”

Today, the majority of it is synthetically produced, (thankfully!) but before all of this was possible 🔬, Cleopatra had to rely on taking sour milk bathes (yikes… the things we do for beauty).
