A happy gut=happy skin

This post reminded me to drink the kombucha in my fridge 😛
I started to notice probiotic skincare products getting popular in the last year. Does anyone have any experience using any?
Thanks for this Dr. Nikka! Is there such a thing as "overdosing" on probiotics? I love to eat foods high in probiotics but how much is too much?
I use to be super irregular... tmi? 👀 I am on a better “schedule” now and I never put two and two together.
How to keep your gut microbiome healthy:
-foods high in probiotics like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir, or kombucha
-Probiotic supplement: I recommend talking to a doctor to make sure you are getting a high quality probiotic and the right one for you.
-Consider seeing a Naturopathic doctor or integrative doctor to help you test and treat your gut health issues.
A healthy gut environment means healthy skin. Think of your gut microbiome like a garden, with different types of 🌸's and 🌿's, and then things you don’t want, like weeds. In the gut, you have different strains of "good bacteria” and "bad bacteria”. If you don’t have enough of the good kind, the bad bacteria can take over, like weeds taking over a garden. This can cause acne and other skin issues!
I mentioned in my last post that a healthy gut is key to making sure we are absorbing the skin healthy nutrients from our diet 🥒. It also means healthy bowel movements 💩 . Yes I brought up 💩, because it’s so important in getting rid of toxins in our body that can cause skin issues like acne or eczema.
