MBX Testing Guide

Welcome to MBX! I hope you’re ready for a memorable and fun journey formulating our next product together. Here’s a little more info about the product and how to document your testing experience:

The formula we’ll be testing is a wrapping mask. This is a fairly new product category in the US, making this product development even more exciting! If you haven’t tried one before, here are a few pointers:

  • the product is meant to be worn for 20 minutes, up to hours if you like
  • you can apply with your fingers or with a brush, just be sure to apply an even layer that’s not too thin
  • it’ll take about 10 minutes for the mask to dry and you’ll see a glass-like finish form
  • once you’re ready to remove the mask, start to gently lift at the edge on one side and the mask should peel off in one piece

Some key ingredients in this wrapping mask are rice bran water, hydrolyzed complex, (collagen!) and galactomyces ferment filtrate. All of these ingredients are geared at improving the texture of your skin and providing a “glass skin” result. Some questions to consider as you’re testing are:

  • does this formula suit my skin type? Is my skin too oily or dry after use?
  • how does the user experience feel? Is it enjoyable, tolerable, annoying?
  • is the appearance of my skin improved after use?
  • does this product seem to improve my skin more with continued use?
  • does my skin seem to have any reactions after using this product?

These are just thought starters, but of course feel free to document any other details you feel are relevant! And now, documenting with photos and videos: Part of what makes this process so exciting is being able to show our community the behind-the-scenes process of how it all came together. In the package mailed to you with the lab sample, you’ll also find a clip-on light that you can attach to your phone. Please feel free to use this light to take photos and videos of you trying the sample, showing how it looks on your skin, and showing how it looks once you peel it off. (The peel off part is always exciting to watch on camera!)

You’ll find some examples of pictures and video below but, of course, feel free to put your personal spin on it!

This is absolutely amazing! Super excited and can’t wait to try this! 😍
